PS 129Q Birthday Celebration Policy
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
At PS 129Q, we proudly celebrate and affirm the rich diversity of our cultures, ethnicities, languages, and traditions. For those families wishing to celebrate their child’s birthday at school, we’ve developed the following school-based policy:
- Birthday Stickers: Students can select to wear a birthday sticker provided by the school on their special day. This way, all staff and peers can say “Happy Birthday” when they see the child wearing the sticker.
- Book Donations: Parents can donate a book to the classroom library in honor of the birthday child. We love to read!
- Goodie Bags: Parents are welcome to send small birthday goodie bags to be distributed at the end of the day before dismissal. No food items, including cupcakes, cake, candy, or gum, are permitted.
- Please note that balloons and large presents will not be permitted for birthday celebrations.
- If you prefer that your child not receive any birthday goodie bag, please notify the classroom teacher, and we will honor your request.
